The Bentley Bentayga

In our office, we had a small debate on which car to feature in this article, and it was between a super-expensive, rugged off-roader owned by Tata, the Range Rover, and the impressive Bentley Bentayga. The Bentayga allows you to see the world through new eyes, revealing new ways to experience it and enhance your journey. This hand-built SUV is a looker; not only is it luxurious, but it is also an all-terrain vehicle and a masterpiece. And the best part is that Bentley offers three variants of this car: the Bentayga Mulliner, the pinnacle of luxury; the Bentayga; and the Bentayga Diesel, Bentley’s first diesel SUV.

The Bentayga has a perfect balance of power and SUV presence. You wouldn’t feel like going on a Tata Nano without any presence. People will look at your car, and they will notice you, so I wouldn’t recommend buying this car if you’re the type of person who likes to go unnoticed.

The sharp lines, flowing curves, and seamless surface will make you want to look at the car more, never stop looking, and not think of it as a beautiful girl. The muscular powerline and the sharply defined crease give the Bentayga a unique character. The Bentley aerospace industry designs it, featuring striking details. When you touch the hand-built aluminum body, you just know the hard work of the people behind it.

It’s not just the exterior that’s hand-built; the interior is handcrafted from carefully selected and matched wooden veneers, creating a seamless ring of wood around you. And the sunlight entering the car through the panoramic sunroof makes the interior sparkle, just like you’re sitting around a treasure trove. I would suggest wearing sunglasses on a really sunny day. The hand-stitched leather gives the car a premium look and the driver great comfort. Bentley has given a lot of attention to detail, but just don’t get carried away; otherwise, the next trip you have to take may be to a hospital.

Bentley offers three seat configurations in their cars to customers: four seats, five seats, and seven seats. The third-row seats fold automatically, and the second-row seats must be folded manually to access the third row—the Bentayga Mule.

Both the Mulliner and Bentayga come with a 6.0-liter W12 petrol engine that produces a whopping 600 horsepower, and it can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.1 seconds. With a top speed of 301 kph, the Bentayga becomes the fastest SUV in the world. The Bentayga diesel isn’t far behind, featuring a 4.0-liter 8-cylinder 32-valve diesel engine. It can go from 0 to 100 in 4.8 seconds, and its top speed is 270 kph. Both the diesel and petrol engines produce 900 Nm of torque.

The Bentayga has been tested in extreme conditions. There has been winter testing in the Arctic, sand testing in the big red dunes, Dubai, gravel testing in the mountains of Spain and also rugged, arid terrain of Chile and Bolivia, and it has excelled in all of its tests. So there’s no doubt that you can literally go anywhere you like with this car, and if you can’t find a road, just make one with ease.

The car offers four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Custom, and Bentley. Bentley gives you the perfect balance between power and comfort. The rest of the 3 says it all. With the 48V Electronic Active Roll Control System, you can attack any corner with a tremendous amount of confidence and loads of tire grip, and also when you’re descending a hill. The all-terrain vehicle offers more on- and off-road action than any other car. The snow and grass option provides grip on low-friction surfaces, while the dirt and gravel option offers more traction for optimal driving control.

The Bentayga features innovative technology for both the driver and passengers. 10 driver assistance systems for urban driving, longer distance and robust off-roading to be exact. It also offers advanced connectivity for both iPhone and Android to make your journey more comfortable. City breaking, pedestrian warning, head-up display, night vision, blind spot assist, exit warning and traffic sign recognition aid the drivers for a safer journey.

Bentley hasn’t ruled out the passengers in this segment, either; there are two 10.22” tablets for the passengers behind the driver that are mobile inside and outside the car as well. It provides access to a world of TV, video entertainment, games, video calling, and media streaming, ensuring passengers stay entertained throughout their journey. Additionally, it features Bluetooth headphones, internal memory, a microSD slot, and a USB port, allowing you to watch your favorite movies anytime and anywhere.

Bentley has done an exceptional job with the Bentayga, except that the interior is a bit over-the-top, but still a masterpiece. You can travel anywhere in a car and visit places that your old or current vehicle cannot reach. With the driver assist and the performance, there’s literally no place on earth where your vehicle cannot go, except deep-sea diving. The car is very well made and clearly one of our favorites. Bentley here has created the perfect SUV for everyone.
